January Newsletter - Updates and Upcoming Events

While January is speeding past, we're excited for the 2025 Seed Share Program and its Canadian version to launch soon. There are also a few upcoming events that we hope you will attend.

GTS Seed Share is Ready to Launch

Get ready for the 2025 Seed Share Catalog to launch on February 1st for general orders! Anna will send out an email when it launches with more details, so keep a lookout. If you contributed seeds, you should have already received an email for early access. If you did not receive an email, reach out to us at info@goingtoseed.org.

If You are in Canada, Send in Your Seeds

January 20th is the last date to send seeds in for the Canadian Seeds Share, however, if you need a few more days, send us an email at info@goingtoseed.org. Use this linked form to send in seeds now. The crops for this year's Canadian Seed Share are moschata squash, maxima squash, cucumbers, melons, common beans, sweet corn, and broccoli. Help your fellow Canadians jumpstart their adaptation projects by sending in your seeds!

The US Seed Share is Accepting Seeds Year-Round

If you are just now opening squash from last year, feel free to send their seeds in at your earliest convenience, as well as any other seeds that may have missed the last date for the 2025 Seed Share. Follow the instructions on this page here, and we will pay for postage.

The Organic Seed Growers Conference

The Organic Seed Alliance is hosting the Organic Seed Growers Conference from February 26th to March 1st in Corvallis, Oregon. This is a unique opportunity to meet fellow seed savers from around the world and to engage in educational training and speaking events. Julia will be on a panel to speak about how local seeds strengthen food systems and facilitate sustainable communities. Anna and Joseph will also be attending and speaking at events. We hope to see you there! If you can not make it in person, there are virtual options. Click here for more information and to view the program guide.
